On my street corner today.
Sometimes, a sidewalk deserves a closeup. Glama-rama! Salon, SF @ 14th on Valencia. Always on the sunny side of the street.
A Swoon wheatpaste on Clarion Alley, SF. This piece is fairly hidden, and thankfully- well preserved-being to the side of a front door which is protected by a front gate therefore escaping spraypaint-and urine coverage.
Detail of spray paint on Clarion Alley. Very modern elements, no?
..and, DO YOU DRINK MILK?
Wanted a Halo, got a shark fin!
At the end of every alley, a bit of a weave, on a bit of a leaf. Urban tumbleweeds..

"Stop the car, I need a shot of that". This was on the side of a cultural center, San Pancho Mexico...a little bitty, gorgeous beach side village.
Detail from the series above (there were two panels). This totally reminded me of some of David Hockney's photomontage pieces-and the image is simply ferocious!!

The city prepares for Christmas...
...and waits for the baby Jesus to arrive.
Nina Hagen was spot on when she sang, "New York City is a place so nice, everybody loves it so they had to name it twice." With every visit, this city always amazes me with it's histories, stories, and personalities and the unique way they meld with the architecture forming a rare living storybook, somehow encompassing all the stories of the past and of the present at the same time. I could spend the day just meandering around looking, gnoshing, imbibing, sitting in the parks, and visiting friends-and that I did last week.
Happened upon this Keith Haring mural above the drained Carmine Street Pool in SOHO. Dated 1987.

Sculpture 14th Street.

The ceiling above the sculpture is mirrored. If you go visit the sculpture, this is the point at where the security guard may tell you that you are on private property and that no pictures are allowed. This is when I explained to her that a sculpture on the sidewalk is public property. Private property is inside your front door, Thank you. Of course the piece is not even named-not even a plaque! And believe me, the security guard has no idea who made it, I asked.
It's morning, and I am already looking forward to visiting my favorite new watering hole this evening, Dogwood. Located at the corner of Telegraph and 17th, it's full of natural light, street views, refreshing cocktails, amazing snacks-charcuterie, cheese, pickles, grilled cheese sammies(!!), and the pictured flocks of (seemingly) flying pheasants.
